It started with one cancelled snow day — and a bad forecast.
In the winter of 2019, a mistimed storm caught an entire school district off guard. Buses were already on the road when the roads turned to ice. Our founders, a small team of meteorologists and software engineers based in Toronto, set out to build something better: a model that understood Canadian winters specifically, not a generic global forecast stretched to fit.
Today, SnowDay Predictor combines real-time data from Environment Canada, regional weather stations, and road condition reports to give families, schools, and commuters a forecast they can actually plan around — updated hourly, covering every province and territory.
